These light crispy toasts are ideal to serve with pates and soups and they can be eaten as they are or with a little butter.Large, white, thin sliced bread is usually used but thin sliced wholemeal bread works also. One slice of bread will make 4 triangles.

Method
Calculate the amount of toasts required. It is better to make more than needed, as left overs will store for weeks in an air tight container.

Toast 2 slices at a time under a grill. While the bread is toasting, heat a very sharp knife by immersing the blade in boiling water (this makes the next stage a lot easier).

When the toast is ready, transfer it to a bread board and after drying the knife remove the crusts. Now slice horizontally through each slice making 4 pieces. Cut these diagonally into 8 triangles and pop them back under the grill for a few seconds until they start to curl. Remove and allow them to cool.

Repeat this process until there are enough toasts, remembering to put the knife blade back into the water to reheat.
