Serves 4
Ingredients
˝oz/15g butter or margarine
1 onion chopped
12oz/350g hard white cabbage sliced thinly
2 tablespoons sesame seeds.
Method
Melt the butter or margarine in a saucepan, add the onion and cook for 2 minutes. Add the cabbage, mix well,
season with salt and pepper and add 3 tablespoons of water.
Cover and cook gently until the cabbage is cooked but not soggy. Stir regularly to prevent sticking and burning. When cooked drain stir in a knob of butter and put to one side
In another saucepan, heat the sesame seeds until they turn golden and then toss them into the cabbage mixture. Transfer to serving dish.
Because there is so little liquid in this dish, it cooks equally well in a microwave oven.
